About Us

Staying Power

When Greenwoods began in Knaresborough in 1991, there were five firms of Solicitors. Now there are only three, of which we are the longest established.

Flexible and Helpful

Whilst we follow the correct procedures, we do not stand on principle that something is not our job. If it is faster for us to do it, we regard this as an advantage as we can better construct client's case and it helps us to foster a good relationship with other members of the legal profession.

Common Sense Approach

" I always go to Greenwoods when I buy and sell. I have been back three times. There is something special about Greenwoods. You can get a sensible answer out of them"

Everyone is Our Only Client

We understand that our clients need to feel that theirs is the matter to which we give focus and priority.

Dedication to Training Excellence

We have had no staff changes for ten years. When the recession hit, we were able to adapt because each fee earner gives support to the others. We long ago banished audio tape as inefficient, each doing their own typing. We all answer the phone and make the tea. Politics at Greenwoods is non-existant. We co-operate to meet challenges.

Training Initiatives

We challenge anyone to have more qualifications per capita than we do. The partners are of course Solicitors and engage in CPD through Connect2Law. Both of the other staff have been supported and encouraged to qualify in their own right.
