I am Camilla; a solicitor, director of Greenwoods and most importantly, I am a mum.

Greenwoods was set up by my mum, Lynda Greenwood when I was 9 months old. I am an only child and my mum and I were the smallest and happiest family in the world.

When my mum died in 2022, myself and Dawn Hudson decided to carry on Greenwoods in my mum’s honour. I can honestly say it has been the most challenging and rewarding decision of my life… well, it’s up there. I am immensely proud of Greenwoods, past and present.

Following in my mum’s footsteps I went to university to study law. Having grown up in Knaresborough however, I wanted to find my own legal career. I only joined the firm in 2022, having qualified as a solicitor in Leeds where I worked at a national firm.

I specialise in Private Client law and am particularly interested in matters concerning mental capacity and vulnerable clients.

After having an unexpected tragedy in my life, I know only too well that we don’t know what the future holds. It is my job to make sure that my client’s and their families are as prepared and protected as they can be for the future and whatever comes next in their journey.  I have an empathetic, realistic and practical approach to estate planning, probate and elderly and vulnerable care. I like to think that I am relatable and help clients to navigate their way through the challenging times in their life.

Being from a small family, I had a very close relationship with all of my grandparents before they died. I was fortunate enough to have all four of them in my life until my early 30s. I lived with my maternal grandparents, caring for them at home until they died. When advising clients, I draw on my personal and professional experience and  take great pride in understanding the challenges families face as our loved ones grow old and the complexities of care and its funding.

I wanted to make sure that Greenwoods remained a safe place for clients and our local community. This ethos extends to our colleagues, most of whom have young families and are supported int their roles as lawyers and parents. Our personal and caring approach to our colleagues translates into the way we treat our clients, it is second nature. Its what we do.

I would love to tell you about what I do in my spare time, but with an almost two year old little girl, 2 amazing step daughters and business to run… there isn’t much time to spare. If I can steal a moment to myself, I enjoy paddleboarding, finding new places to have a Sunday lunch (extra gravy please!) and going to the gym.
